Position Overview

To assist MAX Solutions RTO (0667) to engage with community stakeholders, employers, jobactive providers, training organisations and government departments to promote opportunities for SEE and AMEP courses.

To assist disadvantaged job seekers and humanitarian entrants to overcome their non vocational and vocational barriers to employment and community integration through English language enrichment and development.

To identify and manage opportunities for work experience placements for SEE and AMEP participants as part of accredited Vocational Training units and for the AMEP Settlement Language Pathways to Employment Training program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the regional business development plan to recruit students into AMEP and SEE

  • Daily business development and community engagement by:

  • Attending relevant stakeholder forums such as the quarterly Centrelink/Department of Employment, employment provider meetings, Local Area Coordination meetings with Humanitarian Settlement providers, MAX Regional Employer Reference Group meetings and youth and migrant forums

  • Networking with community organisations, schools, local government and local employers to understand local labour market needs and promote AMEP and SEE;

  • Foster strong professional networks with referral agencies including Centrelink, Humanitarian Settlement Providers, employment services, including jobactive, DES and Transition to Work providers, migrant and refugee service providers

  • Building strategic partnerships in the area of responsibility.

  • Track and analyse effectiveness of business development activities in filling AMEP and SEE courses

  • Identify potential work experience placement opportunities, conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies with work experience activity stake holders and complete all paperwork with hosts and submit for approval

  • Supervise work experience placements including monitoring attendance and participation, following up on non-attendance, WH&S issues and complete all required reports and paperwork, liaising with the trainer to ensure appropriate assessment is completed

  • Report incidents (behavioural, accident, damage to property) at work experience placements for investigation, in accordance with MAX Solutions policies and procedures, and reports for the Department of Education as required.

  • Assist employers to implement vocational placement opportunities and ensuring training meets the requirements and identify potential employment opportunities

  • Update relevant referral agencies on outcomes of work experience placements

  • Develop end of activity reports for the Department regarding employment or work experience outcomes or any other reporting as required

  • Support the AMEP and SEE Trainers and Assessors to achieve program objectives

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Experience working with disadvantaged and vulnerable people

  • Experience working with diversity

  • Good understanding of the local job market

  • Knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the core employability skills framework

  • Genuine passion to assist others to build opportunities through education

  • Current drivers licence.

  • Hold or have the ability to obtain Working with Children Check (or equivalent) and National Police clearance.
