The Work for the Dole (WfD) Field Officer is required to source, develop, negotiate, implement, manage and promote Work for the Dole activities across a selected region. This position will foster positive relationships with host organisations, MAX operational staff, job seekers, lead jobactive Employment Providers, the WfD Coordinator and other stakeholders.

  • Identify potential Work for the Dole host organisations within the region that can offer individual placements

  • Foster and develop strong relationships that lead to quality activities that meet the WfD program intent, the needs of the local labour market and skills in demand and the needs of job seekers

  • Work closely and collaboratively with MAX operational sites, the WfD Coordinator and other jobactive

  • Employment Providers to establish community networks and projects that deliver the program objectives within the region

  • In collaboration with the WfD Coordinator and other jobactive Employment Providers in the region share the responsibility and exercise judgement in taking the lead role in managing WfD Coordinator initiated activities

  • Develop and negotiate project proposals, contracts and agreements appropriate to self sourced and WfD

  • Coordinator sourced activities (as lead or sole Employment Provider)

  • Develop cost effective budgets for relevant activities

  • Undertake, review and update risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies for all activities

  • Assist MAX operational sites within the region to meet contractual obligations in servicing WfD eligible job seekers by identifying individual and group activities that provide real work like experiences and matching accordingly

  • Manage the ongoing relationship with contracted host organisations to ensure respective organisational needs are met

  • Manage and support job seeker attendance, participation and WHS needs for all WfD activities that are either self sourced or sourced via the WfD Coordinator

  • Timely and appropriate management, investigation and reporting of incidents (e.g. behavioural, accident, damage to property) per relevant guidelines

  • Regular review and monitoring of all activities and hosts

  • The development of timely and accurate ‘end of activity’ reports and acquittals

  • Promotion and showcasing of WfD activities as required

  • Working within contractual guidelines, quality systems and policies and procedures

  • Regular reporting as instructed.

Required Experience

  • Experience in a similar role is desired

  • Business development and account management

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including Anti-discrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, Occupational Health and Safety, Privacy and Freedom of Information.

Qualifications

  • Business related qualifications are desired along with strong commercial acumen

  • Driver’s license as per relevant State or Territory authority

  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
