AECOM has an opportunity for a

Facilities Operations Manager supporting our program in Alice Springs, Australia. The Facilities Operations Manager is accountable for the efficient operation, maintenance and support of Site utilities and power generation and supply. The position also oversees a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for the 24 hour x 7 day maintenance and support of all utilities and power generation and supply at Site. The Facilities Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring sufficiently trained resources are available to deliver and maintain reliable and safe power and utilities supply to the Site. All personnel in Facilities Operations must be proficient in all shift operating procedures, shift emergency response measures and have the capacity to effectively complete regular and ad hoc maintenance of all systems under their operation. The selected candidate will promote and practice responsible Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) procedures across JDFPG; provide leadership, management and vision to enable the delivery of consistently high quality results that meet Statement of Work requirements and strategically focus the Facilities Operations Area; effectively manage all Department resources including financial and personnel; apply appropriate engineering knowledge as required; maintain a close and direct liaison with the appropriate Government Points of Contact (GPOC) to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and satisfied; maintain a close relationship with the all Departments to facilitate the effective sharing of resources and integration of work schedules; oversee and lead the development and implementation of appropriate systems and processes to ensure employees are motivated, have access to appropriate training and understand applicable standards, processes and practices relating to their positions; implement planning processes to achieve constant improvement within the Service Area for current and future operational requirements; prepare and deliver reports and presentations to various stakeholders as required; develop and implement effective security management processes across the Service Area; and perform other duties as directed.

  • This is a local hire position.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret (TSPV) Defence security clearance.

  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical/mechanical technical environments and relevant terminology.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement processes and procedures

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability.

  • Graduate qualification in Engineering (preferably

  • Mechanical or Electrical) with 15 years’ experience – or equivalent experience.

  • Current driver’s license

  • Advanced management and leadership experience in the development of effective organizations, commercial structures, budgets, operations, processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing maintenance activities as well as use of Computerized Maintenance Management System.

  • Proven experience managing a large team.

  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and experience in the preparation and delivery of reports, briefings, analyses and investigations.

  • Demonstrated experience in a power generation work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a power generation environment.

  • Personal computing skills and understanding of relevant IT applications, including MS Word, MS Excel and SAP.

  • Experience managing change.

  • Understanding of working with Defence or Government agencies.
