Raytheon Sr Systems Engineer II in Alice Springs, Australia

Raytheon IIS/GIS provides Operations and Maintenance support for the Intelligence Community Raytheon is currently seeking a Senior Systems Maintenance Engineer who will provide Tier-2 maintenance support to real-time signal processing and command & control systems at a 24/7 facility. The position requires a strongly motivated individual to sustain the life cycle maintenance of assigned systems. This individual will apply existing technical skills as well as coordinating with other engineering team members and Subject Matter Experts to ensure system availability for mission support. The Senior Systems Maintenance Engineer will be required to act independently to most efficiently execute their duties and achieve customer goals. Additional requirements such as providing coverage during leave periods for mission support shift maintenance personnel will occur on a rotating basis with other day staff members. Position is located in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia. Position is a two year tour with multiple tours possible. Required Skills: Must possess IAT Level I certification per DoD directive 8570 Strong background in digital signals processing or communications theory Familiarity with current COTS computer hardware - particularly HP & IBM Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and functional knowledge of MS Windows and Tru64 UNIX operating systems Solid understanding of networking technologies and protocols Demonstrated high level of competency in technical writing Excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills Must have the ability to multi-task and be flexible & adaptable enough to operate effectively in a dynamic environment Must be available for unscheduled call-in as well as prearranged support during periods outside normal business hours Qualified applicants must have the ability to satisfy requirements for a TS/SCI SSBI (US) or TS/PV (AUS) security clearance. Individual and family must successfully pass medical and psychological examinations prior to being selected for the position, and have the ability to satisfy requirements for applicable visas to work and/or reside in Australia.
