Hotel Accountant – Multi Property Responsibilities (Maternity Leave Cover 13 Months)

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific is currently looking for a Hotel Accountant to work within the financial operations of several of our properties in a cluster working environment as part of Wyndham Hotel Group. The position is based at Wyndham’s Corporate Head Office for Asia Pacific located on the Gold Coast.

This position is full time covering a maternity leave for 13 months, starting in July 2017 and ending in August 2018. You will be provided with a challenging and fulfilling working environment and be given the tools and support to grow with the company.

The Position

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial reports reflecting the performance and financial status as well as involvement in forecasting and future planning of the properties that fall within your portfolio. You will ensure tight financial controls are maintained and enhanced in compliance with group directives, policies and sound accounting practices, while maintaining absolute financial integrity over financial ledgers and reporting.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in a similar accounting position within a hotel or resort environment is preferred

  • Preparation and analysis of financial and management reports

  • Excellent understanding of accounting controls required for a hospitality business

  • Responsible for the maintenance and control over expenses, income, assets and liabilities of the relevant hotels with your cluster

  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis

  • Excellent budgeting and forecasting skills

  • Exposure to Trust accounting under a Management Rights Business model would be beneficial

  • Knowledge of resort/hotel property management systems – any combination of Opera, Hirum CMS and Peoplesoft accounting software is desirable

  • A relevant accounting diploma or business degree or studying towards.

  • Ability to be able to work effectively under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
