The DES Account Manager is responsible for building relationships with our existing accounts as well as developing new business opportunities to build a network of disability confident employers, providing employment opportunities for people with disability. Located in the Employer Business Centre you will work in collaboration with the Employer Business Centre Manager, National Employer Engagement Manager and Regional/Business Managers. You will be responsible for fostering strong professional relationships with key external stakeholders and peak bodies to influence and build mutually beneficial relationships at a State level.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement strategies that build growth and penetration within existing state based employer relationships proactively responding to employment or National Work Experience (NWEP) opportunities

• Procure new business opportunities and provide overarching account management services to build a network of disability confident employers at a State level

• Relationship management including localised arrangements for State Accounts

• Develop an understanding of employer’s needs, environment, requirements, skills and culture to support future employment opportunities for people with disability

• Identify reasonable adjustments within the workplace and seek professional advice on workplace modifications and solutions to ensure sustainable employment opportunities for people with disability

• Promote and develop demand led training with employers in collaboration with internal and external training providers

• Participate in the professional development and training of staff as required to support business capability

• Obtain a comprehensive understanding of Disability Services holistically and the ability to provide input to the organisations future strategic direction

• Liaise with external service providers, health professionals, registered training organisations and community organisations to increase employment opportunities and social inclusion for participants

• Procure opportunities that provide sustainable outcomes for participants with disability, including negotiating National Work Experience Program (NWEP) opportunities, Workplace Tours, Disability Confidence Training, Job Analysis/Creation and Carving

• Overcome employer objections and promote the benefits of employing people with disability

• Leverage off existing EBC Accounts and employers to develop new business opportunities

• In conducting Account Management and Business Development activities, maintain operational and contractual compliance for Employment Programs

• Action Post Placement Support Servicing requirements as directed

• Ensure all KPI’s are met including targets, outcomes and all service requirements

• Research, identify and prepare call plans to approach employers to negotiate face-to-face meetings to promote participants and the benefits of employing people with disability

• Shortlist and screen suitable DES participants against the criteria of the vacancies secured

• Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures

• Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

Required Experience

• Knowledge of the National Standards for Disability Services (NSDS)

• Knowledge of relevant legislation including Anti-discrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, Occupational Health and Safety, Privacy and Freedom of Information

• Experience in delivering efficient and effective strategies to positively engage with employers and build disability confidence

• Proven experience in account management and the implementation of sales/business development strategies

• Demonstrated sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability and exceptional communication skills, to achieve advantageous outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in Employment Services &/or Disability Services

• Certificate III/IV in Employment services, Disability, Community Services

• Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Police Clearance and Working with Children Check

• Current drivers licence.
