An exciting new Regional Sales Manager position, based in Sydney, has just been created at Abbott Nutrition, and we’re looking for a top-notch sales professional to drive our rapidly growing Nutrition portfolio in the retail Pharmacy channel. As it’s a new role, heading up our new National Pharmacy team, you will be able to make it your own and really put your stamp on the business – you won’t be just continuing the work of someone else.
You will be managing our new Australian National Retail Pharmacy sales team and responsible for exceeding the national sales targets of the Australian Pharmacy sector taking into account the commercial strategy of the Division, through developing the Pharmacy Sales Representatives’ skills, organising their activity, monitoring their results, and to ensure their overall sales performance is continuously developed and kept at an optimum level.
The main aspects of this role include
Ensure a customer oriented culture within the team and within the affiliate, document and share field insights within Abbott
Analyze the current sales situation per targeted pharmacies, develop sales plans including measurable goals, tactics and resource allocation, and ensure sales plan execution
Organize priorities and manage the team’s time to ensure the achievement of the Pharmacy Sales Representatives’ goals and tactics execution
Develop a Business Plan, coach and motivate the Pharmacy Sales Representatives in developing thorough Business Plans that address their most strategic pharmacies
Empower the Pharmacy Sales Representatives regarding profitable commercial policy and value proposition execution, ensure they are able to sell the value proposition, demonstrate to their customers the strategic interest for them of Abbott’s initiatives
Negotiate with smaller chains or independent small buying groups and deliver profitable sales results
Develop and maintain a positive mindset and a culture of accountability that rewards those that drive business results
Recruit and hire high-potential Pharmacy Sales Representatives
Coach and develop Pharmacy Sales Representatives by visiting customers with them (Joint visits) and document observations with Pharmacy Sales Representatives
Provide objective, constructive performance feedback and coaching
Conduct annual performance appraisals, soliciting input from Management and Marketing
Ensure the ROI of activities and provide regular feed-back to Management and Marketing, monitor KPIs to evaluate Team’s performance
In addition to the above, the relevant experience in required:
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Proven consistent sales results
Selling and Negotiation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organisation and planning ability
Works effectively in a team environment
Strong experience in Pharmacy essential
7+ years of commercial/sales experience that involved working closely with customers to deliver results
Minimum 2+ years sales management experience, with demonstrated success in leading, motivating, coaching and developing people
Experience in fast moving consumer health care (OTC), Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and/or Retail preferred
Bachelor degree (or equivalent); Business degree preferable Industry Knowledge of Australian Pharmacy channel.
Have taken transfer sales orders and managed teams which took sales orders and negotiated deals and contracts.
