PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The S/4HANA Cloud Expert Consultant will be the senior lead on any S/4HANA Cloud deployment and own the delivery outcome in partnership with our customers on their journey to the cloud. From scoping and planning of the initial deployment, stakeholder management and transparency through to go-live and ongoing continuous adoption of innovation. The S/4HANA Cloud Expert Consultant role requires deep understanding of the S/4HANA Cloud business process across functional borders, as well as a service-oriented attitude with the aim to achieve customer success.

The S/4HANA Cloud Expert Consultant role will be at the core of our customers and of SAPs success and is primarily a hands-on delivery lead function driving their area of expertise and leading the SAP team responsible for the S/4HANA Cloud deployment. He/She will accountable for the successful go-live of S/4HANA Cloud deployments for DBS service engagements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Overall

  • Ensure customer success, satisfaction, and referenceability for S/4HANA Cloud customers

  • Thoroughly understand the S/4HANA Cloud product set, Process Areas and Best practices

  • Work within the SAP Activate methodology and in an agile delivery model to drive customer deliverables.

  • Work within an on/off-site delivery approach, leveraging the entire SAP ecosystem to drive quicker deployments with a predictable outcome.

  • Conduct Fit to Standard Workshops and identify scoping, configuration, GAPs and Integration points.

  • Define the data migration approach and effort, with thorough understanding of data field mapping and upload.

  • Responsible for the testing approach and successful outcome.

  • Support Enablement of Customer and own cutover process to production

  • Identify repeatable work packages that support the industrialization of the implementation process to improve the timeline of deployments

  • Drive the adoption of the value based innovation roadmap and guide the customer in their journey

  • Plan and personalise the customer journey while maintaining global scalability and consistency

  • Provide services solutioning support through understanding the customer requirements and producing Scope, Effort and timeline estimates and approach for service delivery.

  • Evangelize the cloud mindset

  • Break the deep functional module silo mentality and become a Business oriented Process consultant across all Business functions.

  • Ability to multi-task and work across multiple engagements in parallel.

  • Establish and actively manage executive-level relationships with key customer stakeholders (LOB and IT)

  • Live the second S in SaaS: Develop a delightful customer experience across all cloud solutions

Operational Management

  • Lead the project team and be responsible for transparency to customer and internal stakeholders

  • Responsible for predictable high quality delivery in all assigned S/4HANA Cloud customers

  • Ensure on time & quality delivery.

  • Live the Digital Business Service strategy for S/4HANA Cloud

  • Ensure cross-LoB collaboration, best practice sharing and team work

  • Manage “business outcomes” based on customer business KPIs

  • No surprises, make transparent any issues that could disrupt the customer and SAP success

Cooperation and Coordination

  • Autonomy and collaboration with C-level customers and their direct reports as well as with SAP Global Account Directors, Project Managers, Licensing team, Account executives, Regional Leads, Senior Consultants, and SAM to drive the customer adoption strategy

  • Deep respect for customer stakeholders and ways of working and be sensitive and supportive in the change from current practices/roles to S/4HANA cloud best practices and roles/

  • Internal collaboration with Sales, Finance, Legal and other business functions to support S/4HC adoption and achieve customer outcomes

  • Align with Customer Engagement Executive and Customer Success Manager during the post sale experience, be one team and actively contribute value to the customer including support of Maintenance and Renewal.

Product Expertise

  • Holistic understanding of S/4HANA Cloud product and service portfolio.

  • Understand all Business Process Areas across the product set.

  • Conduct Fit to Standard workshops and identify configuration, data migration, integration and GAPs

  • Understand the limitations of the product and how to overcome them

  • High level Technical understanding of SaaS deployments, in particular S/4HANA Cloud

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES / SKILLS

  • University Degree in Business and/or IT related field.

  • Post Graduate degree preferred but nor mandatory.

  • Profound knowledge of the SAP Digital Business Services area as well as internal SAP processes

  • Experience in several industries and the industry the customer belongs to (core processes and trends of the industry)

  • High customer orientation, service attitude and business acumen

  • Experience in Value Management and Realization

  • Liaison and consultative skills: negotiating skills within a context of high political sensitivity and conflicting interests.

  • Strong writing, mentoring, decision making, communication, and meeting facilitation skills; ability to utilize a combination of formal authority and persuasion skill sets.

  • CxO level communication skills / senior stakeholder management

  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication with senior executive management, clients, peers and team members.

Professional Experience

  • 10 years of professional experience; demonstrated knowledge / expertise of at least one industry / solution segment

  • 5 years of ERP and related experience with 3 years of SAP product delivery experience

  • 5 years customer facing experience of which a minimum of 2 years was in a sales or pre-sales capacity
