About the opportunity

With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a highlymotivated historical heritage consultant to join our Cultural Heritage team,which forms a part of our broader Environment and Spatial operations centre inour Melbourne office. The successful candidate will play a key role in thedevelopment and successful performance of our historical heritage practice inVictoria, NSW and nationally.

This role will provide technical input into historicalheritage assessments and management plans, as well as supporting the deliveryof projects through the application of project management experience. The rolewill also be integral in the development and management of client relationshipsboth internal and external. The role also provides the opportunity to mentorand train heritage staff within the team in the practice of historicalheritage.

About you

You will hold an honours or postgraduate degree in arelevant field (eg heritage architecture, history, heritage management,archaeology). You will also have 5-7 years consulting experience, with a focuson historical heritage, and have the following key knowledge and skills:

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of State (preferablyVictoria, NSW or Queensland) and Commonwealth heritage protection legislationand guidelines and ability to apply this

  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills

  • Demonstrated ability to complete heritageprojects in a timely manner, within budget, and to a high level of quality

  • Demonstrated ability to independently managesmall technical teams in the delivery of cultural heritage services andprojects

  • Demonstrated ability to provide heritage adviceand guidance to internal and external clients, to fellow team members, and to othertechnical specialists

  • Excellent reporting and research skills

  • Demonstrated ability in developing relationshipsand business with existing and new clients, both internal and external

  • Demonstrated ability in the preparation ofproposals and successfully bidding for heritage projects
