The Westin Sydney is an award winning deluxe hotel set in the heart of Sydney's fashion and finance district. Part of the redevelopment of Sydney's historic General Post Office on Martin Place, this luxurious hotel is surrounded by Sydney's most exclusive designer shopping, best restaurants, theatres and nightlife. Within one of the largest and most sophisticated banqueting facilities within a hotel in Sydney, the Main Kitchen is responsible for the smooth running of our banqueting and events from a culinary perspective. Servicing the largest event banquet space of all hotels in Sydney, Sous Chef of our main kitchen offers the opportunity to lead some on the most experienced banqueting chefs and create truly spectacular and seasonal food for a volume operation.
As a Demi Chef you will be required to:
- Use your culinary skills in assigned sections of the kitchen
- Assist and/or supervise assigned sections in the absence of your supervisor or manager.
- You may also have the opportunity to train and develop staff.
To be suitable for this role you must have:
- Completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
- Experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Experience working in a hotel kitchen preferred.
- Available to work a 7 day rotating roster.
