About the Role

We are looking for a Legal Editor to join our team of experienced editors, who work collaboratively together to help provide our customers with the most up to date and best in class legal publications.

As a Legal Editors you will work with authors to build and maintain a range of products to meet the professional information needs within the specialist areas of each publication in multiple media including online, print and e-book formats.

You will ensure the content for each product meets customer needs through accurate, practical, current and easily accessed content. You will be responsible for ensuring f ormulation of product development/enhancement programs for products and for sourcing and developing content that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

To be successful in the role you will be an experienced Editor who is customer focused, has a strong eye of detail and enjoys working collaboratively within a team environment. You will have editorial experience, ideally, gained in a publishing environment. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Degree qualified highly regarded

  • Publishing experience highly regarded

  • Experience with and understanding of Thomson Reuters’ editing processes highly regarded

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent awareness of correct grammar and spelling

  • Attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure

  • Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond positively to change

  • Legal research skills highly regarded (both hard copy and online)

  • XML skills preferred
