BHP Coal is Australia's largest coal producer, with eleven operational mine sites and coal loading facilities across New South Wales and Central Queensland.
BHP Mt Arthur Coal Mineis the largest individual open cut coal production site in NSW. Located less than five kilometres from Muswellbrook, we produce around 20 million tonnes of thermal coal annually for both local and international customers.
Mt Arthur Coal Mine is offering a number of exciting Apprenticeship opportunities to commence in early 2018. Upon completion of your Apprenticeship with Mt Arthur Coal Mine, you will have earned a trade qualification that is recognised globally.
We are seeking Apprentices to obtain qualifications in the following trades:
Mechanical – Diesel Fitting(Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology)
Prerequisites for Mechanical roles is a minimum Year 12 pass in prevocational Mathematics and English
Electrical(Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician)
Prerequisites for Electrical Roles is a minimum Year 12 pass in Maths B or Q Smart Maths and English. A pass in Science or Physics is a distinct advantage
As a successful Apprentice, you will demonstrate the following attributes:
The ability to work safely in any environment
Willingness to follow instructions, adapt and grasp new concepts
Strong desire to achieve personal work goals and objectives
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Motivation to learn and develop new skills
Ability to work constructively within a team
