About the role

Reporting to the Manager Engineering, this governance role will be accountable for ensuring that all of Mt Arthur Coal’s infrastructure and assets are functioning as designed and are maintained and operated to the required standards. This is achieved through:

  • interpretation of designs;

  • overseeing sitemanagement of changeprocess;

  • reviewing standards;

  • completing inspections and assessments;

  • reading and understanding reports, legislation and aiding in the execution of suitable action plans.

Additionally, you will receive the relevant business support to undertake the role ofRadiation Responsible Personensuring appropriate permits and checks are in accordance with legislation.

This wide-ranging and challenging role will utilise your deep engineering expertise and abilities to work across a variety of disciplines (Mechanical/Structural/Civil/Electrical/Process) in order to achieve optimal, safe outcomes for asset and infrastructure integrity. It will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to broaden their exposure across a range of engineering disciplines and really stretch capability to not only govern, but actively engage in continuous improvement.

Located in the lifestyle friendly Hunter Valley region, your previous experience in a similar type role will see you well placed for success.

About you

As a degree qualified engineer, in any of the relevant engineering disciplines, the differentiator will be your significant capability when it comes to interpreting the required engineering information. Whether plans, reports or standards, you will have a robust and demonstrated history working with this type of information and providing the required expertise relating to asset integrity. You will also be open to undertaking your statutory qualification, with business support, if you don’t currently hold this.

As the successful applicant you will also have:

  • A background in working through small projects, ideally with project management qualifications;

  • Desire to not just identify concerns, but also actively find solutions and follow through to resolution;

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development, which you will uphold in those around you;

  • Well-developed communication and collaboration skills and an ability to work across various stakeholders

BHP Billiton's Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the beautiful NSW Hunter Valley region.
