About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Services, this 2 year fixed term role supervises a large team responsible for the ancillary mine fleet providing safe and productive roads, preparation and recovery of operations for wet weather, management of dust and managing fuel delivery to the pit. This broad and challenging role will utilise your abilities to work across stakeholders and deliver on competing priorities in order to achieve optimal, safe outcomes for your crew and production.

Located in the lifestyle friendly Hunter Valley region, your previous experience in leading a team and working in an open cut environment will see you well placed for success.

About you

You will be a people focused and collaborative leader, who has previous experience supervising a large team. Additionally, experience with roads in either a mining or civil capacity will be beneficial. You will also be open to undertaking your OCE qualification, with business support, if you don’t currently hold this.

As the successful applicant you will also have:

  • A strong desire to lead, coach and mentor employees to work to the daily plan;

  • Desire to undertake people management activities and motivated to be an engaged and supportive people leader;

  • The capability to remain consistent in leading whilst under pressure in order to achieve the best outcomes for your crew, safety and production;

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development, which you will uphold in those around you;

  • Experience with SAP or other asset management software / processes to manage maintenance and construction works on the road and infrastructure network

  • Well-developed communication and collaboration skills and an ability to work across various stakeholders
