Front End System Engineer

The Frontend System Engineer position within CTS Infrastructure Services is responsible for managing our frontend infrastructure in support of our CTS solutions and services. This position requires a thorough knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and VMware Virtualization. This includes the ability to operate in a multi-platform, multi-operating system, multi-component environment utilizing a large number of server builds and configurations in a multi-client environment.
Key areas of responsibility:
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve ADS, DNS and network problems
Providing advanced escalation support, including engaging supplier support
Performance monitoring and tuning
Fulfilling service requests for Infrastructure Services

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
4+ Years Windows Support experience
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work off-hours when required
Remote infrastructure support experience
Provide on-call support
A thorough understanding of the Active Directory, DNS architecture
Must be fully authorised to work in Australia.
Current MCSA/MCSE/MCITP/VCP certification
Active Directory Services 2003/2008 (Domain, Forest, Trust, Replication, OU)
Group Policy Management (GPOs), Group Scopes, FSMO roles, GC placements
Configuring/ Troubleshooting DHCP and DNS Name Resolution (zones, zone transfers)
User and Group Administration, File Permissions, DFS, FRS, WSUS
Optimizing System Performance using perf counters (Event Viewer and Network Monitor)
HP SIM (Systems Insight Manager), iLO & Onboard Administrator
Cluster Administration (configure cluster, cluster resources and groups, states and dependencies)
VMware Infrastructure (ESX Servers, vCenter, VMotion, DRS, HA)
Sound server class hardware knowledge, preferably HP Proliant BL and DL Series
Working knowledge of SAN/Storage and Citrix environment
Must possess the initiative to resolve issues before they become critical
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Propensity for knowledge sharing
Ability to work in a team environment
Innovative, self-motivated, and able to interact with all levels of the organization
