About the opportunity

Jacobs contaminated land consultants are highly respected within the industry. The team delivers complex, technically challenging, brownfield site regeneration projects to local and national clients. These clients include: developers, construction contractors, utilities, industry, airports, state and federal government sectors.

To continue the ongoing growth of the contaminated land business, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer to join our Sydney team. Reporting to the Section Leader – Environmental Sciences, you will work closely and collaborate with other colleagues across the business to deliver projects.

Whilst this role is base in Sydney, regional and interstate travel maybe required to deliver services as part of a national team. The role will involve a wide range of projects including:

  • preliminary and detailed site investigations;

  • design, supervision and validation of remediation programs;

  • human health and ecological risk assessment;

  • waste classification; and,

  • design, management and delivery of monitoring programs.

About you

We are seeking talented and ambitious candidates with an intermediate level of experience and above who are looking to further develop their expertise in a global consultancy environment. The candidate will also bring with them:

  • Relevant qualifications in environmental science or environmental engineering

  • Demonstrated experience in the management of contaminated land services under the National Environment Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure

  • Achieved or working towards accreditation under a relevant contaminated site practitioners accreditation scheme

  • Competency in the use of ESdat and gINT for management of geo-environmental data

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing proposals and tenders

  • Demonstrated team building and collaboration skills
