A great opportunity has become available for a Claims Consultant to join our claims team in Sydney. This motivated and highly professional team are looking for an individual who is committed to excellence in their work and with a passion for learning the industry.
If successful, you will be responsible for receiving new claims from clients and/or colleagues and then reviewing, processing, collecting information and notifying appropriate insurers.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Promptly enter or update claims information into appropriate claims application(s) in compliance with any local service standards;
Manage a portfolio of corporate clients under a variety of insurance classes, including: Property, Liability, Marine, Plant & Equipment.
Distribute (report) new claims notifications, or updates, to all insurers for all policies or coverages;
Communicate with clients, colleagues, third parties or insurers for status updates, information requests, instructions or query resolution
Prepare for and attend client meetings, including annual or quarterly claims review meetings
Analysing and interpreting policy wordings
Negotiating through the determination and/or settlement process on behalf of clients.
Meeting standards as outlined through external agreements and internal unit standards
Prepare settlement documentation and where appropriate facilitate collection of claims monies;
In order to be considered, previous general claims experience in a fast paced team is required. It is expected that you will have outstanding organisational skills, initiative and strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, motivation and a strong commitment to team culture will ensure you every success in this role.
