About the role As the Marketing & Communications Leader, you will be responsible for developing Marketing and Communications strategies and tactical plans that support our business growth objectives as well as leading and inspiring a team to deliver them. You will oversee all new and existing programs to ensure they are planned, measured and consistent and will also be accountable for optimising the Marketing and Communications resourcing plan, budget and team output. This position will involve extensive interaction with a very diverse constituent base as well as close contact with senior executive-level regional and global management.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Working with the CEO and his leadership team, developing and executing all communications materials intended for distribution across Australia and the Pacific Serve as the “centre of excellence” for all matters pertaining to marketing and communications Leading a small team of marketing and communications specialists overseeing research, branding, digital marketing, campaign management, media relations, advertising, graphic design, collateral, events, writing and internal communications Aligned to Marsh’s business and strategic priorities, ensuring the development and execution of marketing campaigns for Australia and Pacific at a high level of quality, consistent with Marsh’s global standards, tools and best practices Executing all materials at a high level of quality and consistency within Marsh global branding and editorial standards Managing and optimising marketing budget, including expense and headcount Coordinating with both global resources and country teams to ensure effective distribution and maximum impact of global and multi-national materials and campaigns across the region Acting as the conduit of information and point of escalation between the local business and global marketing and communications resources Representing the regional perspective and interest in the development and prioritisation of global marketing and communications initiatives Ensuring global guidelines and requirements are understood and adhered to across the region Overseeing corporate partnerships and sponsorship arrangements Developing media plans aligned to the goals of regional leadership and business Coordinating/guiding media/public relations activity. This could include overseeing any agency relationships Interfacing directly with the Global Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, who is based in New York, and other members of the global marketing and communications leadership team Skills and experience required:

Extensive experience and proven success in developing and managing marketing and/or communications campaigns, ideally within the professional or financial services sectors

An ability to collaborate and manage across multiple levels of a large, global organisation is essential

Exceptional English written and oral communications skills are required

Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business, Marketing or Communications

Strong team development, management and mentorship skills

Project management, creativity, self-management, and ability to influence at all levels in a diverse, global organisation

Effectiveness in leading and managing across diverse country marketing and communications teams

The ability to develop and bring to leadership new ideas to advance the strategic priorities of the firm

High degree of self-management; ability to resolve conflicts, hold self-accountable, meet deadlines, and provide solutions with minimal oversight
