Reporting to the to the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for providing quality assurance support for the design, procurement, acceptance, integration and testing of the AWD Combat System (CS). This role is responsible for providing assistance, support and guidance on quality matters and resolution of quality related issues. As the Quality Engineer you will provide reporting status of QA activities to the Quality Manager. Key Responsibilities Liaise with the AWD Enterprise and Raytheon staff to provide guidance on quality related issues and achieve resolution. Providing resolutions to issues related to implementation and maintenance of the AWD Reporting Management System (RMS) and ensuring its continuing certification. Driving Continuous Improvements, participating in process improvement initiatives through Raytheon Six Sigma methodology and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) requirements. Ensuring administration and execution of AWD RMS policies and procedures. Reporting status of Quality Assurance (QA) activities to the Quality Manager. Providing guidance and support to the Quality Manager in implementation of process improvement models. Provision of advice and assistance to personnel on quality matters and resolution of quality related issues. Perform Test and acceptance monitoring. Monitor Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) to ensure they are conducted in accordance with procedures. Participate as a member of independent review teams for test procedures and reports. Ensure product issues are adequately resolved, e.g. ECP’s implemented, deviations approved, NCR’s and / or trouble reports are resolved. Participate in audits at supplier premises and monitor progress of Supplier corrective actions. Monitor acceptance testing. Assist in the maintenance of QA Procedures. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or software discipline. Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor qualifications. Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role and familiarity with International Quality Standards (such as ISO9001). Knowledge of requirements of ISO 9001, AS 4801 and ISO 14001. Demonstrated understanding of Project Management principles. Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
