About the opportunity

Our current workload within the Water and Environment business has grown and we are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Associate Environment (Defence). This role will provide leadership and technical support during all project phases to ensure that the project designs meet operational requirements and specified engineering standards. Based in Perth and reporting to Section Leader - Environmental Services you will work as part of the team on a broad range of projects while you develop and build your own client relationships driving work winning activities, including the preparation of bids. Other key responsibilities include;

  • Identify and target business development opportunities

  • Support Client Managers with service delivery to clients

  • Lead and contribute to strong business performance (project delivery, work winning)

  • Coach and mentor staff with an aim to supporting professional development

  • Technical input and quality of outputs

  • Delivering high quality solutions that meet client expectations

  • Successful delivery of projects on time and to budget

  • Ensure that all the project work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices

About you

Key attributes for this role include:

  • 7-15 years professional experience in environmental management/ consulting in Australia.

  • Proven track record in client relationship building, proposal and bid preparation, project management and technical delivery.

  • Environmental project experience including government (State/Federal), built environment and resource sector.

  • Assist in the technical development of junior staff

  • Network of WA based client and industry contacts

  • Experience in providing input into multi-disciplinary environmental teams across multiple geographies.

Desirable attributes include:

  • Technical skills and experience in assessment and remediation of Contaminated Sites.

  • Experience and/or relationships with the Australian Dept of Defence.

In addition, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Environmental Science / Management, Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning/ Bachelor or Environmental Planning or equivalent

  • Member of or eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia

  • Project management training/accreditation desirable

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
