Facilities Engineering Vacation Employment Program
Chevron Australia is inviting mechanical, electrical, chemical/process, subsea/offshore, instrumentation and control or mechatronic engineering students with a keen interest in the oil and gas industry to apply for our 12-week vacation employment program within our Perth office.
Facilities Engineers play a critical role in the management of Chevron Australia’s major capital projects.
These roles will see you supporting one of Chevron’s world class assets and developing skills that will benefit you as you continue your career and further studies.
You will assist specialist engineers with the resolution of technical issues impacting plant performance and availability. This will include data collection and analysis in support of the offshore and onshore assets operated by Chevron.
You will be exposed to real world technical issues as well as the Chevron processes and systems used to analyse and determine the most realistic and commercially viable solutions.
You will gain a better understanding of the varied and extensive technical support required to keep these world class facilities operating at their optimal level.
Following completion of the 12-week program, vacation students who consistently perform above expectations may be considered for full time graduate positions upon graduation from their studies, where roles are available.
Who We Are Looking For
Applicants will be:
In their penultimate year of a mechanical, electrical, chemical/process, subsea/offshore, instrumentation and control or mechatronic engineering undergraduate, Honours, Masters of Engineering or PhD degree
Performing at a consistently high academic standard
Excellent communicators with strong analytical skills and a focus on teamwork
Committed to Chevron’s values of trust, partnership and integrity and achieving an incident and injury free environment
Available for the specified duration of employment from 27 November 2017 until 16 February 2018
Eligible to legally work and live in Australia permanently
The following requirements are not compulsory but will be highly regarded:
- Work experience in related and non-related areas will be held in high regard as will demonstrated involvement in extracurricular and community/volunteer activities
