Due to the growth of our business and an expanded portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated CAD Technician to join our team.
As part of the Civil Structures team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to Civil Structural Infrastructure Design. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to developing the Civil Structural services of our business, supporting our clients and building a profitable Civil Structures team.
The CAD Technician will undertake design, project management and consulting services within Civil Structures, in order to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will:
Be responsible for undertaking drafting tasks in order to meet client requirements for the documentation of civil structural infrastructure design.
Provide support for the Civil Structures group including taking responsibility for production of drawing and design information using the companies chosen CAD software.
You will have demonstrated:
You are able to take direction from project leaders and work well in a team environment
You are able to set up drawings independently, using creative methods to portray information in the most time-effective manner possible without compromising the integrity of the design
You are able to work quickly and efficiently to meet both internal and external deadlines.
Good knowledge of local QLD standards, in particular TMR, QR and local government standards
Approximately 5-6 years working experience
Experience in the operation of software design tools including AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation is required
Relevant industry experience in Structural Drafting covering both steelwork and concrete/ reinforcement detailing
With recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Drafting or similar, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in design, project management and implementation in your field, within a consulting business environment.
You will possess demonstrated excellent attention to detail along with high-level verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, you will have proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership will be highly regarded.
