About the role

We are seeking an experienced Principal HR Business Partner who is looking for a new career opportunity and is able to make a difference through influencing and partnering with the business to achieve results. More specifically, this role will be part of a small and dynamic team supporting the Mt Arthur energy coal operation in the picturesque Hunter Valley, one of the largest open pit mines on the east coast of Australia. The role supports and provides advice to line managers on effective people processes to influence the culture and performance of our business. This is a Monday to Friday position located in the Brisbane CBD.

In this role you will:

  • Coach and support line managers in leading and managing their people including through HR systems, leadership development, workforce planning/analytics, policies and talent processes.

  • Identify and implement improvement initiatives that contribute to the productivity imperative;

  • Provide advice on HR policies and procedures;

  • Develop and implement HR projects that make a difference to productivity and culture;

  • Assist line managers in the understanding of IR principles, legislation and industrial instruments.

About you

You will have HR experience, with exposure working with and coaching line managers across a broad range of HR areas.

It is important that you are down to earth, resilient, agile to change, have an eye for detail and are results driven. Naturally your communication and interpersonal skills will be a strength as you interact with a variety of stakeholders. Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have a formal qualification in a Business/HR/Psychology related discipline with experience from a diverse range of industries. Our HR Business Partners are based in our Brisbane office, however regular site travel is required which means a Class C Driver Licence is essential.
