One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.
Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 roster pattern roster arrangement.
About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Execution, the Supervisor Maintenance Execution is responsible for leading the maintenance teams with responsibility for weekly and long term execution, as well as providing planning input to ensure the safe achievement of department objectives.
In this role you will:
Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team.
Coordinate and direct maintenance staff and contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities carried out on fixed plant throughout surface operations
Ensure timely resolution of safety issues, providing communication and consultation of safety related matters with work teams
Coordinate maintenance activities across shifts and other departments creating maximum value for Olympic Dam
Build relationships with other departments and employees to ensure any maintenance issues are addressed and resolved effectively in a timely manner
Encourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
Ensure planned materials, plant and resources are in appropriate place at the appropriate time
Facilitate daily pre-start meetings and make field inspections to determine appropriate scopes of work as required
Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
Minimum trade level qualifications, preferably in mechanical or electrical
Recent experience in a similar leadership role
Sound knowledge of work management processes
Ability to plan and schedule services to ensure completion within allocated time frames
Capable in influencing and mentoring others in operational discipline, as well as HSEC principles and behaviours
Ability to quickly and constructively work across disciplines, as well as various departments and teams
