One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 Day/Night roster, with residential or DIDO options available.
About the role
Working in the Mine Maintenance department you will be responsible for the reactive resolution of reticulation affecting underground electrical equipment performance and availability. This will not only ensure we provide a reliable system but also that we keep pace with future mining progression.
In this role you will:
Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
Carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to underground equipment
Assist in resolution of electrical issues affecting equipment performance and availability
Review and update maintenance schedule plans and equipment history
Transport cable and equipment safely to job locations, and assist in the set up and installation
Provide electrical trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the electrical mine area, to ensure overall reliability and stability
Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedures
Communicate plant status to appropriate departments
Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas
Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
Electrical Trade certificate
South Australian A-class Electrical Workers license
Working at Heights and Loadshifting IT Ticket (Advantageous)
Able to work autonomously, and confident to make own decisions
Adaptable and reactive to change and new information
