About the role
Reporting to the Business Development Manager - Industrial Eastern, this role offers an excellent career opportunity for someone who is keen to develop skills and experience and has an interest in learning, understanding and supporting our business development and sales process. The Industrial division within Jacobs Australia covers the Mining & Minerals, Oil & Gas and Speciality Chemical markets. You will be required to develop proposal and relevant sales documents using Jacobs’ tools, guidelines and templates and work to develop and implement opportunity response plans i.e. activities, deliverables, owners, milestones. A key part of the role will be to assist in developing winning themes and value propositions that align with our clients. In addition, you will:
Proposal preparation, coordination of meetings and assist in all relevant activities
Develop strategically important opportunities for the Mining & Minerals, Oil & Gas and Speciality Chemicals business
Collect company data or conduct internal / external research as appropriate for opportunity response documents and / or strategy development
Develop and maintain sales qualification material and supporting information in our designated information management system
Develop appropriate network within the company to facilitate identification and sharing of relevant information, best practices etc. between offices
Coordinate and delivery of proposal submissions including prequalification questionnaires and request for proposal documents
Conduct client, competitor and market research and analysis
Coordinate the production of response documents, including preparing opportunity response plans, and organizing and participating in response-related meetings (internal and/or client) as appropriate
Proofread and edit technical and non-technical documents for accuracy and consistency
You will have relevant experience in developing winning proposals across the markets in which we operate accompanies by technical knowledge in similar roles. The successful individual will be creative, confident, a good writer and organised to assist in the planning and delivery of major bids. You will have:
Good interpersonal and organisational skills to participate in or lead meetings and build relationships across operational, technical, business development and sales teams
Ability to manage, co-ordinate, write, review and edit text, graphics and metrics for sales documents including proposals, qualifications, and presentation slides
Must be organised and able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work under tight deadlines
