About the opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Director, the key purpose of this role is to provide road and infrastructure contract administration, independent verification and project leadership capability to the Transport Group.

The role includes managing Jacobs risk on proposals and projects by undertaking Project Management, Project Director and Contract Administration and Independent Verification roles.

As a senior member of staff, the role also comprises preparation of proposals, client management, and business development by building the work pipeline and delivery of projects.

About you

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in road and infrastructure contract administration, independent verification and project leadership. You will be suitably qualified with relevant experience, having worked on both construction only contracts and design & construction projects. To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification (minimum bachelor level qualification in Engineering) (essential)

  • Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)

  • B1, B10 Contract Administration Prequalification with TMR (desirable)

  • Extensive experience in Contract Administration and Independent Verification within a D&C environment.

  • Experience in managing multiple contract administration and/or independent verification projects simultaneously at the Superintendent (or equivalent) level

  • Complex contract claims analysis and resolution experience

  • Contract dispute resolution experience

  • Sound, technical, civil engineering background and general skills in transport across multiple disciplines

  • An understanding/familiarity of local and national transport standards, codes and contract types

  • Marketing, proposal writing and business development skills including contacting previous and new clients to seek new opportunities to aid business growth

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key aspects of this role given the requirement to write complex contractual letters and detailed reports, and to give presentations to clients as well as delivering in-house training Why Jacobs
