MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The Assistant Customer Manager is responsible for supporting the Customer Manager in the delivery of the Food & Refreshment Joint Business Plan with Metcash and all associated banners, with specific responsibility for the Hot Tea, Spreads and Iced Tea categories.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Management of the operational interface with Metcash to deliver customer specific tactical solutions on ranging, pricing, merchandising, promotions and in store activations.

  • Responsible for 'end to end' execution including alignment of central Metcash team and both the Unilever regional state and field teams responsible for priority banners and store level execution.

  • Influence strategic direction for the categories with Metcash.

  • Influence Unilever growth strategy by bringing the Metcash ‘voice’ into the Unilever business.

  • Responsible for the internal operational plan and associated stakeholder alignment.

  • Contributing to high performance team culture.

  • Delivery of Turnover Customer Profitability and TTS budgets for the customer within allocated categories.

  • Work with the Customer Business Manager to prepare for customer meetings.

  • Attend customer meetings & play an active part in engaging the customer.

  • Leverage regional State & Field Teams to drive execution excellence.

  • With Customer Marketing Manager execute specific activation events within the customer.

  • Customer specific projects as allocated

  • Manage designated relationships with customers.

  • Provision of clear up to date inputs to Business Processes E.g. Promotional Evaluation; Customer Business Planning, forecasting & business reporting.

  • Weekly review of instore promotional activity & pricing

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Implementing the CD Business Plan

  • Optimising Promotion Sell-out

  • Developing Customer Relationships

  • ‘End to end’ execution skills

  • One to two roles in Customer Marketing/Trade Category Management and Account Management / Field Sales

  • One to two roles in Brand Building, Customer Marketing/Trade Category Management and Account Management / Field Sales

  • 3 years of business experience, preferably cross-functional

  • FMCG experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
