Job Description

Braintree is focused on maximizing the adoption, use, and preference for Braintree by addressing customer needs more effectively than any other payments provider and by offering customers the best payment experiences. As a Sales Engineer and a tenured technical pre-sales professional, you will partner with the Australian sale teams to drive the acceptance of Braintree within the Australia's largest merchants.

Core responsibilities:

Presales Support

  • Involvement from the early stages of the sales process partnering with members of the Large Merchant and Mid-market Sales teams to provide technical guidance to top tier merchants and partners in their successful implementation of Braintree products and customized solutions.

  • Use consultative methodologies and techniques, including storytelling and effective presentations to business and technical personal of all levels at merchants and partners (e.g. This will involve the creation of PowerPoint presentation, mock-ups, demo tools and other support materials) .

  • Use market and competitive environment knowledge to craft and deliver compelling proposals to merchants and partners.

Solution Analysis, Design, and Validation

  • Demonstrate understanding of prospect's product, process and technical requirements of payment processing across all their channels and the ability to match these with existing Braintree solutions.

  • Production of documentation to define compelling solution proposals.

  • Assess implementation risks; work with externally and with internal stakeholders to proactively and effectively remove obstacles to successful launch.

Best Practice Adoption

  • Work with retailers and internal teams to champion best in class functionality and buyer experience

  • Leverage customer relationship and time management skills to effectively prioritize work with multiple merchants or partners concurrently

  • Be recognized as a subject matter expert and influence key internal stakeholders (e.g. commercial and product teams)

Experience Required :

  • Experience in technical pre-sales, integration or project management gained from working as a Sales Solution Consultant, Solution Architect or Sales Engineer.

  • Experience working with Internet Technologies including Web Services, REST API, HTML/CSS/Responsive Design, JavaScript, Server side programming.

  • The ideal candidate will be a full stack developer with experience in working with enterprise companies preferably retailers, e-commerce or payment gateways.

Qualifications required :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification.

Skills & knowledge required :

  • An outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organisations.

  • Knowledge of online payment processing, mobile apps and web or "e-tail" space is considered a plus.

  • Working knowledge of a least one major programming language (Java/Java EE, .NET, PHP, Ruby, Node.js, Python).

  • Mobile OS development skills (iOS/Android) considered a plus.
