Strategic Sales Manager

Job Title: Strategic Sales Manager (Enterprise Business)

With the explosive growth of digital commerce, PayPal Australia is seeking a high caliber, solution orientated SSM to join their Enterprise Business Team in Sydney.

Working within the Enterprise Business team, the SSM will have a hunger & determination for winning new business, be passionate about digital commerce and have a genuine interest in PayPal products. The SSM will be required to focus on the full suite of PayPal payment applications across a clearly defined pipeline. The employee will implement their extraordinary consultative sales skills to communicate and negotiate with the most senior executives of Australia’s leading enterprises across a range of industry verticals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise a consultative approach to sell PayPal’s solutions to merchants across a range of industry verticals.

  • Working with the Head of Sales, prepare a robust operating plan, sales targets and accurate business forecasts so that budgets and forecasts are consistently met & exceeded.

  • Work with the Head of Sales to develop and implement a strategic plan to aggressively drive PayPal’s growth with enterprise merchants in the sector.

  • Actively engage clients by selling PayPal’s payment solutions in a compelling yet consultative style

  • Conduct customer meetings with senior level executives at the CEO, CMO, CFO & COO level. Negotiate commercial terms, contracts and close deals with strategic merchants.

  • Act as primary point of contact with internal key contacts (Pre-sales product specialists, Integration engineers, Finance, Legal and Marketing etc) to develop programs that mutually benefit both PayPal and the client.

Personal Qualities, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required

  • Candidate MUST have a genuine passion for technology and be very “tech savvy”.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field. Masters Degree a bonus.

  • 5 years+ experience in Sales & Business Development “hunting” with extensive experience in negotiating with executive decision makers within the top companies in Australia.

  • Experience in the digital commerce or payments industry will be a bonus.

  • Exceptional consultative sales skills with a passion & hunger for PayPal and to win new business.

  • Results oriented, analytical, self motivated & a “hands on” person with proven ability to meet objectives & targets.

  • Proven success record in business development and relationship management.

  • Ability to effectively manage a pipeline and be an organized administrator working within a defined sales process.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and presentation skills required.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team – although the role will see the person interacting with many levels and across several disciplines, it is important that this person be able to self-manage and show initiative by being proactive.
