Electronic Arts, Inc Consumer Insights and Analytics Manager in Sydney, Australia

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Insights and Analytics professional to join EA’s Sydney office. This maternity leave contract will spearhead EA’s console & PC based consumer’s insights and analytics across the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East region. Reporting to the Regional Director - Strategic Insights, Analytics & Demand Planning, you will be responsible for developing an intimate knowledge on how consumers are purchasing, playing and interacting with console and PC based video games across Asia. To do this you will be responsible for extracting and interpreting and analysing internal and external data, engaging in consumer research programmes, with the expectation of delivering insights to the Asia leadership team.

Please note this is a fixed term contract until March 2018

Key responsibilities

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and publish reports for the management team to use.

  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Plan and oversee primary market research studies.

  • Select appropriate methodologies and techniques, managing vendor engagements-when applicable, analysing results, writing reports, formulating recommendations & insights, and presenting results to clients & senior management.

  • Conduct secondary research and evaluate the Asia video games market landscape.

  • Facilitate meetings to assist with the framing of business questions and identification of information needs.

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an analytical role for a fast-moving, consumer-focused category; video game knowledge preferred.

  • Technical expertise in data models and data mining.

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting databases (SQL etc.).

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

  • Ability to translate research findings, information and data into actionable insights and present research findings and insights to relevant management and teams.

  • An ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately and provide recommendations on trend discovery.

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, R etc)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Willingness to learn on the job

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and a fast-paced environment

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros)

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications BS in Mathematics, Business Intelligence or Statistics
