Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer / Scientist - Waste Management to join our market leading waste management and resource recovery practice based in the Sydney CBD and to take the next step in their career. You will be part of a high performing and dynamic team renowned for delivering best practice environmental and engineering services for all phases of our clients’ waste management projects from planning to construction.

You will work amongst a team of peers and alongside our clients, while learning first-hand from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders. You could be working on projects like:

  • Technical Adviser for Major Resource Recovery Projects across Australia

  • Planning Approvals and Design of Waste Disposal Facilities for Public and Private Sector Clients

  • Waste Strategies and Plans for Mixed Use Precinct Developments across Australia

  • Compliance Audits of Waste Treatment and Disposal Facilities across NSW

Some of your responsibilities could include:

  • Project management of small to medium environmental projects in particular those related to Solid Waste Management and Resource Recovery

  • Assist with contamination investigations and remediation projects of varying size and complexity, for a variety of end market clients including Oil & Gas, Defence, Transport amongst others

  • Assist in the development of waste management and resource recovery strategies for Local Government and Private Sector Clients

  • Preparation of tenders and proposals including writing technical reports

  • Completion of site works which may include site inspections, compliance audits and occasional soil and groundwater monitoring if required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Good understanding of relevant NSW Environmental Legislation in particular related to waste management

  • 3 to 5 years of post-graduate work experience inwaste management and resource recovery; some soil and groundwater assessment experience would be an advantage

  • Driver's license (Essential), HAZWOPER, White Card and First Aid training would be preferable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline (e.g.Environmental/Chemical/Civil Engineering/Mechanical)
