Your Opportunity

Cargill’s Sydney site is currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to manage the repair, servicing and maintaining site Domestic Boxes.This role will have a strong focus of safety orientation including EH&S and FSQR. You will be expected to responsible for your own wellbeing, your colleagues and ensuring the Sydney plant is in compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Quality and Continuous Improvement systems.

Inaddition to being a team player in contributing to a safety culture, you will also be responsible for:

  • Keeping repair records and ordering materials;

  • Taking ownership and being involved and committed to achieving a safe workplace, including working towards achieve a zero harm work environment while striving for continuous improvement on EH&S performance;

  • Working independently through contributing to team efforts in achieving company objectives by attending and providing constructive input at site meetings.

Qualifications

All about you

In addition to being an experienced Mechanical Fitter, you are an independent worker with the ability to be self-motivated and proactive. You are also a highly adaptable individual with the capacity to accept change. You will also:

  • Have mechanical or maintenance fitter trade qualification(s), as well as a fork lift licence and confined space licence;

  • Have strong competency with welding, pneumatic controls, hydraulic equipment (specifically for grain handling), fans, pumps and related equipment;

  • Be competent with shaft and coupling alignment techniques, bearing, pulley, gear and sprocket replacements;

  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Be physically competent to partake in activities within an industrial environment;

  • Be able to work a roster if required, which may include weekends and public holidays.
