We are currently looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail to join the Mortgage Processing team as Mortgage Settlements Officer.

As the Mortgage Settlements Officer, you will be responsible for the coordination of all administrative and approval functions associated with the mortgage settlement process for new and existing consumer business.

The role supports multiple vendors to facilitate the settlements process and also provides assistance to the manager in the day to day running activities of the team.

The Key Accountabilities will include:

  • Coordinate and approve mortgage settlements

  • Validation of daily mortgage settlements

  • Monitoring settlement systems

  • Approve late settlement requests

  • Approve daily financial journals (Funding, corporate, cancelled funds, refunds)

  • Authorise and send settlement funds via FT

  • Bank cheque custodian, cheque issuance and reconciliation

  • Reconcile settlement general ledgers and IM accounts

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS for distribution to stakeholders

  • Review and approve vendor invoices for payment (QBE, GE, Galilee, TOLL)

  • Prepare purchase orders for invoice payments

  • Process LMI payments, reconciliation, rejects, closed accounts

  • Security packet custodian and risk reviews

  • Loan account remediation

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Work well under pressure

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management

  • Ability to establish and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work unsupervised

Qualifications

  • HSC or equivalent

  • Finance / Accounting background preferable however not essential
