Summary of Job Description:

AbbVie has a strong specialty product portfolio that serves patients in the areas of Immunology, HCV, Oncology and Neuroscience. The National Sales Manager is a member of a cross-therapeutic team that specialises in the Pharmacy Channel and partners with Wholesalers, Banner Groups and Retail Pharmacies to provide access, services and resources to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Job Responsibilities: * Build a highly engaged team of representatives who enjoy their job every day * Inspire and direct the activities of the national sales representatives for the achievement of short and long term business objectives * Translating marketing strategies into day-to-day working sales and promotional strategy and driving the implementation of this through In-field Representatives.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders, e.g. Peer NSM, Marketing, Medical, X-functional team to plan in-field alignment activities. * Work with Business Unit Manager to set and achieve in-field targets including call rate and plan of action. * Implement and coach sales team in the understanding and adoption of the “Challenger” model. * Lead the creation of account strategies and business plans and ensure efficient use of the CRM system * Deliver impactful communication and training initiatives for the pharmacy field team to ensure medical, technical and sales skills are maintained. * Proactive and ongoing targeting of key customers to reach brand team goals. * Maintain necessary contact with major suppliers, key customers and industry associations * Develop and manage the expense budget within plan by allocating monies appropriately and regularly monitoring performance. * Monitor the impact of all initiatives and make adjustments as necessary to optimise strategic outcomes and results. * Manage the people issues e.g. recruitment, retention, development plans, succession planning * Actively seek, identify, analyse, and present new business opportunities and improvement ideas to senior management on an ongoing basis. * Manage a small metro territory to ensure tactics are delivered in an effective way * Effectively manage agreed projects to deliver high-quality work product in a timely fashion . * Be an active member of Immunology brand teams to ensure collaboration and delivery of brand specific campaigns

In this newly created strategic role, the National Sales Manager will inspire and lead a national team of Pharmacy Account Managers. To liaise with marketing personnel to ensure short and long term marketing and sales strategies are applied by the team.

You will be responsible for developing the sales strategy by driving agreed upon short term priorities and long-term goals and objectives in order to position AbbVie as a market leader and solution-provider to retail pharmacies, regional banner groups and wholesalers.

Qualifications:



Qualifications * 5 years of current Pharmaceutical Sales Management experience in the Australian Retail Pharmacy Banner Groups / Wholesalers * Ability to think and plan strategically and operating with execution excellence. * Ability to operate, lead and facilitate effectively in a matrix organization. * Business/Marketing tertiary qualification - essential. * An energetic, dynamic and driven individual who is keen to bring people along with you to achieve outstanding results * A background knowledge and experience with chronic diseases would be highly regarded. * Knowledge of the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct * Ability to travel interstate frequently Essential Skills & Abilities: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent stakeholder management skills * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Excellent innovative and creative thinking skills * Excellent time management skills
