We’re seeking an Officer, AML Compliance, based in our Sydney office. In this role, you will support the Senior Manager, Compliance and Manager, Compliance, with assisting the Australian and New Zealand Compliance team to carry out all tasks required to ensure The Payments Business Unit of Western Union remains in compliance with it’s AML/CTF and Licensing obligations as well as company policies.

Assist inproviding support and coaching for the Sr. AML Analyst and AML Analyst as itrelates to the tasks they are responsible to carry out.
Assist in conducting AML/CTF program reviews ofour corresponding banking relationships,including FI institutions which are clients of The Payments Business Unit ofWestern Union.
Assist in building and maintaining relationshipswith the compliance teams at the Financial Institutions that are clients ofThe Payments Business Unit of Western Union.
Assist internal stakeholders with complexcompliance related queries.
Participate in the design and implementation ofcompliance focused projects and Serve as the ANZ project lead when it relatesto compliance driven initiatives.
Assist with the preparation and maintenance ofpolicies and procedures in relation to the various compliance tasks.
Assist in addressing escalations fromstakeholders locally and offshore as it relates to transaction monitoring andsanction screening.
Assist with the completion of compliancemonitoring tasks, including oversight of our licensing obligations (breachreporting, customer complaints, advisor monitoring, conflicts of interests,others).
Keep abreast of regulatory changes in Australiaand New Zealand.
What you will need to succeed:
More than three years of previous experienceworking in a financial institution (bank; securities and/or investment;corporate foreign exchange).
A degree in banking, commerce, businessadministration, accounting or auditing is desirable.
At least one year previous experience working inthe compliance areas including an understanding of anti-money launderinglegislation, sanctions, Corporations Act and company policies.
Exposure to risk management policies andprocesses as it relates to the business application of internal and externalrisk factors (operational, legal, reputation, market).
