Amazon.com Product Safety Manager in Sydney, Australia

Amazon Product Compliance is looking for a smart, energetic, hard-working, and creative candidate to lead the Product Safety in Australia. The successful candidate will show excellent judgment and instincts in decision making and will continually work to proactively improve their knowledge of Amazon’s business and relevant technologies. This is an exciting and challenging position to lead Australia-based Product Safety operations. This person will develop regional strategy for Australia product safety, help identify and apply best practices from around the globe, build new solutions and processes, and support the ongoing operations for the Global Consumer Product Safety team. Amazon is looking for a Program Leader who has direct experience with consumer product regulations and a proven track record of delivering results to support our rapidly growing and evolving business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop business solutions which ensure compliance with consumer product regulations within the region

  • Establish programs and processes to investigate unsafe products while leveraging technology to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Communicate and partner with stakeholders across organizations to define strategy, requirements, and timelines for major product safety initiatives

  • Manage multiple, high-visibility projects simultaneously, including communication to stakeholders and executive leadership

  • Bachelor’s Degree required and 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Working knowledge of lean six sigma and/or comparable process improvement methodologies

  • Intermediate to advanced level Excel, Word and other common desktop software applications; must also be comfortable learning proprietary web applications and software

  • Experience partnering with software development teams to build new technology

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals at all levels including technical/non-technical stakeholders to achieve critical deadlines

  • Good problem solving skills: acts decisively, promptly and confidently. Not afraid to contradict others and proactively offering solutions.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously

  • 5-7 years of experience and demonstrated success in leading and developing teams

  • Knowledge of product compliance processes and interplay with global supply chains

  • Previous experience in tech, electronics, consumer goods, or other fast-paced, technology- driven businesses a strong plus.

  • MBA or Masters/PhD in technical field
