We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Relationship Manager to join team in a part time capacity working the equivalent of 3 full time days due to our growing team in Sydney. As part of a successful, fast-growing and influential team, you will be responsible for the retention, management and growth of our current portfolio of large enterprise merchant partners that work with PayPal.

The RM Team is the primary business owner responsible for merchant satisfaction and for growing PayPal Total Payment Volume (TPV), Revenue and Share of Checkout (SOC) with our partners across our suite of services. Particular focus will be placed on building and maintaining long-term relationships with the enterprise merchant portfolio and managing programmes and initiatives that will drive enhanced consumer experience across all merchant channels.

Core responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the end-to-end strategic relationships with a portfolio of key enterprise merchants.

  • Building strong relationships with the senior management team of our key partners based on trust, confidence, loyalty and a track record of driving growth.

  • Responsibility for managing appropriate PayPal resources to achieve specific growth targets with merchant partners.

  • Creation and ownership of the strategic account plans for the portfolio and leading the cross-functional account team on specific targeted value-driving initiatives.

  • Responsibility for managing the full program of new PayPal products to be rolled out to the merchant portfolio.

  • Proactively pitch enhancements to the merchants channels that will improve consumer experience and grow PayPal business;

  • Present business intelligence related to the merchants PayPal volume and product usage;

  • Listen to the merchants and understand their business objectives and identify how PayPal can help and add incremental value and deliver against growth objectives.

  • Identify and understand our merchant product or operational pain points. Prioritise these based on urgency and impact and communicate this knowledge to PayPal management and relevant business units. Keeps our merchants informed about our product roadmap and development cycle and progress against goals.

  • Working with PayPal and client Marketing teams on high impact programs and development of collateral.

Experience and skills required:

  • Demonstrable track record of driving significant value for organisations through building long-term business relationships.

  • Self-motivated & a “hands on” with proven ability to meet objectives & targets in a fast paces and result orientated environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field is beneficial, but a proven track record of 5+ years in business development and client relations is a must.

  • Experience of managing large and complex programmes/projects/clients within e-commerce/retail/payments/technology/financial services environments

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, negotiation and presentation skills required.

  • Strong analytical and organisational abilities

  • Able to bring the gravitas required to effectively communicate and influence at all levels to achieve win-win scenarios

  • Demonstrate a willingness to take charge and work effectively to deliver results, despite internal or external obstacles

  • Self-managing – although the role will see the person interacting with many levels and across several disciplines, it is important that this person be able to manage themselves and be proactive.
