The Learning Specialist (LS) supports the growth of each of the store team members by teaching them about our product line-up, customer service skills, and resources that will prepare them to offer a world-class customer experience. The LS reports directly to the Store Manager to oversee role, product, demo, and sales learning for all team members in the store, and works with the Field Learning Specialist and the Head Quarters (HQ) Learning Team to help drive HQ and Market priorities to ensure alignment with overall strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with the HQ Learning Team & Field Learning Specialists to understand and execute learning priorities.

Teach team members the proper selling and product skills for each of our first party products.

Responsible for building out learning plans based on individuals? learning experience.

Coach team members on sales skills and habits by observing behaviors and by analyzing sales results.

Consult with management team to help influence development plans that help team members to achieve their performance goals.

Observe customer interactions to provide sales and product coaching.

Promote the Microsoft Store culture, mission and values. Planning, Organizing and Execution

Coordinate and execute all Learning Team initiatives to drive Microsoft Retail?s learning strategy.

Maintain a superior level of knowledge of devices and services that Microsoft offers in-store.

Deployment of new learning materials and support team readiness prior to launches.

Validate the product and service knowledge, skills, and capabilities of each team member.

Connect with each team member to understand their readiness and learning needs.

Oversee the onboarding learning experience and peer support for new-hire and promoted team members.

Act as the go-to for product and service learning support for all team members.

Monitor team learning progress through the Learning Management System (LMS), make recommendations to drive improvements in areas of opportunity.

Follow all of Microsoft Retail?s compliance standards.

Review and report learning metrics that drive performance results.

A strong passion for technology and delivering world-class customer service.

Understanding of adult learning theory or other learning methodologies preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

Must have 3-5 years of retail leadership experience in a consumer electronics and/or high-end environment

Experience as a teacher, mentor or coach preferred.

Product demo and selling experience required.

Deep understanding of Microsoft products including, but not limited to: Windows, Xbox, Windows Phone, Surface, and cross-platform services like Skype, OneDrive, OneNote, and Office and how each of those products competes in the marketplace. College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Have the ability to work your regularly scheduled shift, travel and be mobile throughout our stores, and be able to lift products with or without assistance. Sales
