Amazon.com Senior HR Business Partner in Sydney, Australia
Amazon is looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to drive the development and implementation of the HR strategy in support of our AWS Premium Support business in Australia. Premium Support is one of the fastest growing technical businesses in AWS globally which will present many challenges and opportunities for growth for someone who is passionate about making an impact in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.
This role will work with the Site Lead and his leadership team within Support to keep pace with business and headcount growth, drive results whilst looking at ways to improve and maintain high employee engagement. This includes managing and implementing annual talent programs (performance reviews, promotions), building bench strength (eg succession planning), and driving leadership ownership in developing action plans resulting from employee feedback. The incumbent will partner with the business and relevant regional/global HR specialist teams throughout the planning and execution for these programs, tying them back to the business priorities and long term HR goals. Given current innovation and implementation of new ways of engaging and developing employees, we are looking for someone who can advise and coach the leaders around change management. There will be opportunities to lead and participate in regional and company-wide projects. A key aspect is building relationships with the regional AWS teams around aspects of employee relations and leadership development.
We are looking for a Human Resource professional who has the ability to diagnose issues and use data and his/her insights to influence solutions/outcomes. The individual in this role must be able to interface effectively with leaders and peers at all levels of the organization both regionally and globally. You will need business acumen, excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to think and plan for the long term and have project management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with management team and the HR team to develop and implement HR plans and solutions with special focus on driving and maintaining employee engagement.
Partner with business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills development.
Partner with the business to lead both annual and mid-year review processes which focus on talent development and performance management.
Provide management coaching to front line managers and senior leaders, and help drive leader onboarding in line with Amazon’s Leadership Principles
Assess businesses people training needs and conduct 1:1 and facilitate group training sessions as appropriate.
Review and analyze business and people metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling.
Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests.
Degree or certification in a Human Resources Management or related field and at least 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership role with broad knowledge and experience in human resource management
Experience partnering with multiple business leaders in complex and fast paced business setting which has a high rate of growth
Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, analysis and multi-tasking given the pace
Broad experience and specific knowledge of employee development and performance appraisal systems.
Knowledge of Australian employment law
Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization and across countries to achieve results.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Able to travel, as appropriate. This is not extensive.
