Sr Sales Manager, Microsoft Platform (APAC) in Sydney, Australia

AWS is seeking a seasoned specialist sales manager to help us maintain our leadership position as the preferred enterprise cloud platform for Microsoft Windows Server based workloads. This is a key leadership role in AWS supporting multiple existing territories and segments with existing customers and account teams. The role has a specific focus on the Microsoft Platform on AWS, including datacenter and database migrations based on Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server. The specialized sales team takes on increasing importance to drive deeper workload specialization within our sales resources, optimize how we align technical resources to opportunities and build a unified and cohesive community. The leader of this team will be in charge of hiring and developing specialized sales personnel within the AWS APAC market region that consists of ANZ, ASEAN, Korea and India. She/he will be an integral part of the APAC leadership team and a key member of the worldwide Microsoft Platform organization, reporting to AWS HQ.

The ideal candidate will have enterprise sales management experience in areas such as data center migrations, database management systems, cloud computing, healthcare, life sciences or financial services. She/he be a self-starter, and be willing operate both tactically and strategically. As key team member in this fast growing, exciting space this leader will have the opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of a service category with significant impact on our customers’ business. Responsibilities will include building and managing a sales team focused on driving revenue, adoption, and market penetration in a large territory with multiple timezones. The ideal candidate will possess a sales management background to lead a team of remote senior enterprise sales representatives with engagements at the CxO level, manage a regional sales pipeline, and lead sales efforts that will include teaming with senior enterprise sales representatives, solutions architects and partners within the largest customer accounts. She/he will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions while working cross-organizationally to build consensus.

*Demonstrated sales management and technical leadership experience (5+ years).

*Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans

*Solid understanding of Microsoft datacenter and database technologies

*Working knowledge of Microsoft Licensing for large organizations

*Exceptional communication and presentation skills

*Experience managing a complex technical sales or specialist sales organization

*Strong people management skills (have managed people up, have managed people out, able to set clear commitments, focused on accountability, able to assess relative performance, has managed remote employees effectively)

*Candidates must understand concepts related to pipeline velocity, opportunity structure, key milestones, and coaching the sales process.

*Strong process and operational management skills - ability to drive scale, consistency and efficiency through the disciplined use of systems and processes.

*Expertise in improving technology relationships and scalability via partners and ISV’s where appropriate.

*Location – Singapore or Sydney

*Experience selling Windows Server, SQL Server or Azure

*Experience working at Microsoft or a Microsoft Partner

*Experience with data center migrations
