The primary focus of the Geotechnical Engineer is to:
Communicate with the Client and the Project Engineer to understand the project requirements;
Carry out research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of ground conditions at the project site;
Plan, specify and manage site investigations and laboratory testing programmes;
Develop and implement site safety management plans covering site investigation works;
Collate and analyse field and laboratory data and carry out analyses related to the project design;
Liaise with Arup engineers, Clients and Project Engineers to develop project specific solutions;
Prepare detailed geotechnical reports;Key Skills
Be able to design and deliver geotechnical engineering solutions
Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
Able to quickly develop successful client relationships
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
Able to demonstrate strong commercial awarenessKey Experience
Proven track record in the field of geotechnical design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types
Experience of planning, managing, supervising and interpreting ground investigations
