Due to the growth of our business and an expanded portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team.
As part of the Environmental & Resources team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to Environmental consulting. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to developing the Environmental services of our business, supporting our clients and building a profitable Environmental & Resources team.
The Senior Environmental Consultant will manage a range of environmental projects, either in support of a wider team or as the Project Manager and contribute to a range of environmental projects. In addition, the successful candidate will:
Be required to work without supervision in managing projects or being a member of a multidisciplinary team, referring up as necessary. In achieving this you will be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budges and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area
Be required to be a key member of the Environment and Sustainability in Victoria team in providing high-level environmental assessment and management consultancy services in a developing market sector, particularly within consultancy to infrastructure projects
Be required to keep up-to-date on key initiatives in environmental management and assessment across a broad range of areas, and ensure that the team is up to date on these key issues.
You will have the following Technical Skills and Qualifications:
5-10 years relevant industry experience in a consulting, private industry or a government environment;
Knowledge and experience in infrastructure sustainability or principles highly regarded;
Project management and business development experience would be highly regarded;
Research and analytical skills;
Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines – and related procedures including OH&S.
With recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or similar, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in design, project management and implementation in your field, within a consulting business environment.
You will possess demonstrated excellent attention to detail along with high-level verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
