The Service Management Office and Service Design group forms part of the ITSM Organisation within NEC’s National Operations department, within the Delivery business unit.

The Service Design group provides Service Continuity, Availability & Capacity, Service Level and Service Catalogue Management services to the NEC internal organisation and our customers.

As our team continues to grow we are seeking a Capacity and Availability Manager to join our team.

Primary objectives:

  • Manage operational capacity and performance (hardware, software, resources) and coordination and delivery of operational reports to the SDM

  • Manage operational Availability and Reliability and coordination and delivery of operational reports to the SDM

Required skills and experience:

  • 7+ years in IT Operations and/or applications environment

  • Strong practical ITIL/ITSM skill set with operational experience with most / all of the service design, service transition, service operation processes

  • Demonstrated ability to perform within a complex environment

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of technology and business process professionals

  • Exceptional customer service focus with effective relationship-building skills across customers, Service Delivery Managers, CSMC and all Operations Team Leaders and team members.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform within a large, complex outsourced environment

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills

  • A proven track record identifying trends within the technical environment, particularly in highlighting potential problems and/or improvements

  • Attention to detail coupled with pragmatic approach to maximising output

  • Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to work on, and manage, multiple complex issues / work priorities concurrently and independently

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and presentation skills

  • Advanced interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills

  • Team player; able to work collaboratively with others and work independently, flexible and adaptable and able to self-manage around tight (and potentially conflicting) deadlines

  • Proactive, self-motivated and results-orientated with lots of initiative

  • Flexible and able to handle frequent change

  • Process and outcome driven with a commitment to and demonstrated knowledge of processes and tools which will enable continuous improvement
