About the business

The Architecture team is responsible for providing Deep Domain Architecture and Pre-Sales skills across Infrastructure, Communications and Smart Systems BU’s nationally to NEC. Critical success factors are Solutions Assurance of all proposals, customer solutions and ensure full scoping of proposals to contracts. The building and maintaining of a scalable, resilient, searchable document repository with comprehensive meta data will be the responsibility of every member of the Architecture team.

About the role

An excellent permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Enterprise Architect to assist in delivering the Defence Business Growth Strategy. This is a senior role requiring a strong technical Architect to be responsible for converting requirements into architecture and design that will deliver solutions which drive the NEC Defence ICT Service Roadmap. The role will undertake key tasks directly related to new business proposal activities for the Defence account, working cosely with customers, partners and suppliers.

Duties

Reporting to the General Manager, Domain Architect, you will have the following key responsibilities:

Architecture Design

  • Design overall ICT architecture solutions for customers. Engaging on the onset to get new business. Send tenders, look at customer requirements, design, equipment, scoping the project

Technical Support

  • Assist in the successful delivery of customer projects. Provide hands on technical role to internal stakeholders and the customer throughout the design and implementation phases

  • Provide occasional post-sales technical support to implementation staff as required to assist in achieving timely and technically adequate solutions

Business Development

  • Analyse industry trends and technology patterns and help develop solutions / strategies for business growth. Hand in hand with pre-sales support. Look for opportunities, build relationships to get business

Technical Development

  • Keep abreast with technology advancements and focus on personal development. Personal development. NEC is a multi-vendor partner so the need to be up to date and fully trained in all aspects of the industry

Skills and experience

To be successful in the role, you will bring the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • 10 years + experience in ICT industry with a minimum of 5 years in designing and/or implementing complex ICT projects or solutions.

  • 5 years + experience in designing solutions within the set field(s)

  • Knowledge of the ICT industry, specifically UC, Data Networking, Data Centre, Servers and Virtualisation.

  • Extensive enterprise design experience with a record of achievement in technology/value added business solutions successfully delivered

  • Ability to confidently conduct technical evaluation or discovery sessions with challenging customers so as to win over technical customer stakeholders

  • Degree in Engineering or Bachelor in Science/related discipline is essential

  • Cisco Certification (CCNP Level), UC, Data Centre, Security certifications and experience is essential
