Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate labourer, plumber or fitter to join our Installation Team . Based at our Victorian Branch at Airport West and reporting to the Installation Project Officer, you will primarily be responsible for installing and testing range of products ensuring installation conforms to company operating specifications and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out field installation work in retail service stations and commercial refuelling markets.

  • Repair and maintenance of existing underground and above ground petroleum fuel systems

  • Calibration of existing and new equipment on petroleum systems.

  • Repair and maintenance of air/hydraulic systems on service station forecourts.

  • Prepare site / project paperwork in line with company standards and customer expectations.

  • Some physical labour e.g. trenching, jack hammering and the use of power tools.

  • Ensure tasks are completed in a safe manner in accordance with Gilbarco’s HSE policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of, and consistently diligent around workplace safety.

  • 3-5 years solid work history.

  • Be a reliable, enthusiastic self starter with a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build solid long-term relationships with customers.

  • Ability to work alone and in a team.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.

  • Familiarity with confined space and breathing apparatus (desirable).

  • Ability to be ‘on call’ for after-hours for urgent requests for service assistance.

  • Ability to work away from home on short term projects.

  • Experience with bobcat and mini excavator operator competencies may be an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and experience (ideally, labouring, pipe fitting or plumbing).

  • First aid qualifications (desirable).

  • Electrical disconnect and reconnect licenses (or the willingness to obtain).

  • Medium truck license (or the willingness to obtain).
