ResMed Materials Engineering Section Lead in Australia

We are looking for a Materials Engineering Manager for our Sleep Product Development team.

Let’s talk about the role:

You’ll be working with and driving the performance of a team of materials engineers and scientists who work on selecting, developing and testing materials for multiple concurrent product development projects across the Sleep Disordered Breathing portfolio.

You’ll be involved in leading all the materials engineering activities to ensure our products satisfy customer and corporate expectations for safety, quality, performance, reliability and efficacy.

You’ll work with your team to pre-empt upcoming regulatory landscape shifts and construct a roadmap of ongoing research and development to facilitate ResMed’s innovative product pipeline.

You’ll work collaboratively with development and cross-functional teams and build strategic relationships with Regulatory bodies and external testing laboratories.

Let’s talk about you:

We’re expecting that you’re an experienced Product Development leader who knows what truly great development looks like and have a passion for building great teams.

To demonstrate this you will be able to “wow” us with a proven track record of commercialised product development projects, sold into a global market.

You have experience building high performing teams, and are curious about what makes teams work. You truly believe that a team is greater than the sum of its parts and really care about building a positive and engaged team culture.

You’ll have an experienced voice and level head and pragmatically assess risk to help the projects make trade-offs.

You will thrive on solving complex engineering problems, as part of a team, leveraging your degree in Engineering and extensive experience.

Stakeholder management and communication skills in this role are absolutely key. You need to be able to manage changing priorities across a group of stakeholders. And explain toxicological test results and their implications in simple language.

Let’s talk about the team:

It’s a growing team of 4-5 engineers, with core competencies in toxicology (Biocompatibility & Disinfection/Sterilization) and plastics and silicone/elastomer moulding. You will be responsible for empowering and encouraging your team, developing the careers of a wide range of engineers at different stages from junior to lead engineers. Additionally, you will ensure the quality and accuracy of their team’s output (both written and oral), providing support and guidance for project teams including project managers, design engineers, and regulatory managers.

Big ideas and big goals reign at ResMed Australia. Within this major product development and manufacturing facility, you’ll thrive in an environment filled with self-starters who possess the drive to make a difference. You’ll be encouraged within a people-focused culture that motivates and recognizes talent, so that together, we can produce the best products and results.
