About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a Newtwork Engineer (Data) to join our growing team to provide support across :

  • Network Infrastructure (Routers, Switches, Wireless, WAN Accelerators and Firewalls)

  • Video Conferencing

  • Internet and Mail Gateway services

  • Network Cores (Data Centres)

Monitoring and Management via a combination of HP Network Management Tools (NPS, NNMiand NA) and Cisco Management Tools (Prime, Call Manager)


  • To provide Incident resolution, installation and Project Delivery for Data Network services

  • Ensure end to end operational availability of network services within service levels and / or service expectations

  • Assist with and generate Design’s, Solutions & execute new installations and upgrades as necessary complying with the change management process

  • Maintain accurate records of all operational assets (hardware, software etc.)

  • Ensure work standards are met, and conduct quality reviews as appropriate

  • To work with Customers, Enterprise Architect, NEC Management and the delivery team in providing the best and most cost effective solutions

Skills / Experience

  • Cisco Associate Level (CCNA - Routing and Switching Certification)

  • Microsoft Office skills / training e.g. Outlook, Word, Visio and Excel

  • ITIL experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in implementing, managing and troubleshooting complex Cisco based networks in an enterprise Information Communication Technology (ICT) environment

  • Demonstrated experience with network management systems

  • Proven customer contact skills in a similar environment

  • Experience in working with service management systems based on industry best practice such as ITIL

  • Experience in working in large team environments delivering high dependency services
