The role

To assist the regional sales and support teams with Product Roll Out, Skills development and Product Support activities of the Optimine Digital Systems within the Sandvik Optimine Product Portfolio. Servicing all equipment and data-ware related to the System through Effective Maintenance Scheduling, and application of industry practices. Conducting factory liaisons, and implementing optimisation practises to ensure System Availability improvement, Cost Effectiveness improvement while focussing on Safety, Health and Environmental Effectiveness.

The Product Master is the Specialist in their area of responsibility, and will be required to keep up to date with the latest technologies, training programs and support strategies implemented by PA Mine Automation. This role is based at Canning Vale, WA but will require extensive travel up to 60%.

Key performance areas

  • Provide technical training and assessment, and support to the service network

  • Resolve and report any technical problems associated with product area

  • Provide technical and service support on all deliveries

  • Assist factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation

  • Assist in the training of distributors

  • Provide on-site commissioning of Product Area offerings in the sales area and technical assistance to resolve issues

  • Review spare parts recommendations and develop accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC)

  • Coordinate with Sales Support in the relation to active quotations and sales and services cases

  • Investigate warranty and provide feedback to the respective factories

  • Liaise with third party suppliers in relation to technical deliveries of additional services

  • Liaise with Technical and Product Support teams (Local and Global) and assist customers with parts interpretations and recommended stock holdings

  • Comply with all aspects of the Sandvik EHS policy

    Your profile

    The successful candidate for this role should possess a relevant technical degree in an electrical or instrumentation discipline; a focus on automation or control systems would be an advantage. You will have experience and understanding with machine CAN Bus systems and IT systems including IP Protocols, Communications Protocols, MS Project and experience with system support and remove support experience. Experience in SQL, GPS and Wi-Fi systems would be an advantage. You will have knowledge of the Underground Hard Rock Mining Industry and experience in on-site commissioning. You will also have the ability to work underground.

    A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred.
