Strategic Intent

The role of the Associate/ Assistant Vice President in Corporate Banking Australia is to support Senior Bankers to develop strategic solutions for corporate clients and be actively involved in structuring/executing high profile transactions alongside product partners in Investment Banking and Capital Markets Origination.

Our Junior Bankers are part of the Relationship Management Team who build and grow our long-term relationships with clients; addressing their most complex banking needs, helping them to succeed in their businesses by solving problems and realizing opportunities. Our bankers act as the primary contact point through which our clients access Citi’s capabilities; they develop integrated financing strategies for the client and orchestrate the delivery of relevant parts of Citi's coverage and product platform.

Key Competencies

  • Identifies acquired credit and risk knowledge to conduct a detailed credit analysis and determines key risks and mitigates in client business

  • Understands financial statement reporting and analysis

  • Deep understanding of financial models, including assumptions, drivers, projects, etc and is able to modify and build models as needed

  • Understanding of corporate and project related legal documentation

  • Familiarity with reviewing legal, technical and other due diligence reports

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices of clients’ competitors

  • Comprehensive understanding of macroeconomics and ability to articulate the impact on key economic data on clients

  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and suggest solutions

  • Interact with business partners to provide materials supporting various business priorities.

  • Support the country team in the implementation of regional and global initiatives

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar disciplines

  • Previous experience within banking environment in a role with exposure to external clients and credit processes is a pre-requisite

  • Previous experience in a project finance or structured credit role would be highly regarded

  • Strong writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills

  • Effective communicator and proactive in eliminating silos

  • High energy, strong work ethic and ability to work independently, roll-up-the-sleeves approach

  • Team player who works well with others
